Preview
Singapore will lock horns with Malaysia in the 11th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on November 2. Singapore has lost both its matches and is languishing at the bottom of the table in Group A. Malaysia, on the other hand, has not been too different as well and is present in third place.
Singapore played against Oman in their last game where Singapore won the toss and elected to field. Oman started decently on what was looking like a good track to bat on. After the loss of the first wicket, they changed gears and started scoring at a much better pace. A good knock by Aqib Ilyas helped Oman post a strong total of 174 runs on the board. Singapore started decently but kept losing wickets at regular intervals which held them back with the scoring rate. Eventually, the scoring rate mounted and they lost the match by 22 runs.
Malaysia squared off against Nepal in their last encounter where Malaysia won the toss and elected to bat. Proving the decision correct, they started really well with the opening stand lasting for 58 runs in just six overs. They fumbled their way in the middle overs a little but kept scoring runs at a good pace due to which they reached 165. Nepal looked in complete control of the chase the entire time as they had good partnerships and kept finding boundaries regularly. They cruised to the target easily and won the match by six wickets.
