Moises Henriques will lead the Sixers again this season. Daniel Christian announced his retirement from T20 cricket after last season. Tom Curran has replaced him in the squad. A few changes have been made in the bowling unit as well. Joel Davies, a 20-year-old spinner, has been brought in from Sydney Thunder. Mitchell Perry, who played for Melbourne Renegades during the 2020-21 season of the tournament, has been picked. Mickey Edwards, Chris Jordan, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Nathan Lyon have been released from last season’s squad.
Nic Maddinson will lead the Renegades again this season. He suffered an ACL injury last season and was replaced by Aaron Finch. Will Sutherland has been appointed the vice-captain of the team. Joe Clarke and Quinton de Kock have been added to the batting unit by the team. Martin Guptill, Peter Handscomb, Marcus Harris, Andre Russell, Zak Evans, Akeal Hosein, David Moody, Jack Prestwidge, Corey Rocchiccioli and Sam Harper were released. Adam Zampa has moved to the Renegades from Melbourne Stars in a trade deal. The Stars got Sam Harper in return.
