Preview
Sharjah Warriors will lock horns with Dubai Capitals in the 14th match of the ILT20 2024 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah on January 29. Sharjah Warriors have won and lost two games each so far being fifth in the rankings. Dubai Capitals have a similar track record but due to better net run-rate, they are placed second on the table.
Sharjah Warriors had played against Desert Vipers in their last encounter, where Desert Vipers won the toss and elected to field. Warriors did not start well to lose two of their wickets early but Martin Guptill and Tom Kadmore balanced the team well with their performances. They took the team to a total of 174 runs. Vipers were no better with the start either, as they had lost the first wicket on zero. Alex Hales did play a good knock, but he lacked support from other end as his partners kept on losing their wickets. They lost the game by just seven runs.
Dubai Capitals had played against Gulf Giants in their last encounter, where Dubai Capitals won the toss and elected to bat. On a slow and difficult track, the Capitals did not help themselves and lost a bunch of early wickets. There were a couple of handy knocks for which Sikander Raza paved the way, but the team could only reach a total of 132 runs. Giants lost a wicket early as well and looked in trouble but a good partnership for the second wicket calmed the troubled waters. With great application from the batters, they won the game by three wickets.
