The third and final ODI of this series between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will be contested in Hambantota's Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium on Wednesday (June 7). After facing a huge loss in the first game, Sri Lanka opted to bat in the second ODI with a plan in mind. Openers Pathum Nissanka and Dimuth Karunaratne put on a good opening stand of 82 runs in 15 overs. Followed by solid fifties from Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis laid a strong foundation to go hard in the end overs, which worked well. Additionally, short appearances from Shanaka, Dhananjaya, and Hasaranga helped Sri Lanka cross the 300-run mark. Sri Lanka scored 109 runs in the final 10 overs. Coming to their bowling department, Dushmantha Chameera showed his class at the start of the innings by dismissing the Afghan wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz. It was all about spinners from that point. Especially from the start of the 30th over, Sri Lanka picked up 8 wickets for 45 runs, with Dhananjaya and Hasaranga sharing six wickets. Sri Lankan spinners took 7 wickets as they won the game by a huge margin.
