Preview
After celebrating victories in the Tests and ODIs, the Sri Lankan cricket team hopes to extend its run of success to the shortest format of the game, with their first T20I game against West Indies slated to take place on October 13 at Rangiri International Cricket Stadium in Dambulla.
The Sri Lankan side ended a 27-year dry spell by winning the ODI series by 2-0 against Rohit Sharma-led India, celebrated a Test win in England after a decade, and notched their first series win over New Zealand since 2009.
The West Indies side is at the third spot in the T20I rankings while Sri Lanka sits at the eighth spot. However, this series win for the Islanders might shake the things. The Lanka Lions have been in fine form of late and playing a brand of cricket over the last few months. They will be looking to carry on the good form in the T20I series against West Indies which has recently thwarted runners-up of the 2024 T20 World Cup, South African team.
