Preview
Spain will lock horns with France in the 1st match of the European Cricket Championship at the Cartama Oval in Cartama on September 25. Spain has been in brilliant recent form as they have won all their last five games while France have been good as well, winning three of their last five outings.
Spain had played off against the Isle of Man in their last match, where Spain won the toss and elected to bowl. It was a match the Isle of Man would like to forget as soon as possible as they broke records one after the other. Only four of their batters could score anything, and the whole team was bowled for just 10 runs. Making another record of the shortest chase, Spain chased down the total in just two balls, hitting two maximums and winning the match by 10 wickets emphatically.
France had played off against Luxembourg in their last encounter, where France won the toss and elected to bowl. Luxembourg started slow and had already lost two wickets at just three runs in two overs. However, they had a fantastic partnership next, due to which they posted a good total of 94 runs on the board. France lost a wicket on the very first ball but did not look back there on as they kept smashing opponent bowlers and won the match by four wickets with more than three overs to spare.
