Preview
Switzerland will lock horns with France in the fifth match of the ECI Switzerland 2023 at the Stadium Grundenmoos in St Gallen on August 12. Both the teams would have already played a couple of games by the time this match would be played as it will be the fifth match of the day. They would look forward to an excellent start to the tournament by having early wins in their kitty.
Switzerland squared off against Malta in their last encounter, where Malta won the toss and elected to bat. Choosing to bat did not go much in their favor, as they lost a wicket early but had decent partnerships to cover up for that later. There was no single high scorer but a complete team effort that helped them post 164 runs on the board. In their chase, Switzerland made an explosive start, and Arjun Vinod played a brilliant knock of 67 runs, so Switzerland could chase down the total easily with 11 balls to spare. They won the match by six wickets.
France had played against Malta in their last match, where France had won the toss and elected to bat. Winning the toss and choosing to bat proved to be a horrible decision as they had lost four wickets just at the score of 14. Their middle order tried scoring some runs, but none of them were able to convert into bigger totals, and as a result, they were bowled out at a petty total of 78. Malta started with their chase well; their top order scored runs all around the park. By the time they were declared out, the match was just left as a formality which they ended by winning by seven wickets with almost half the innings left.
