Preview

Tanzania will be up against Uganda in the 15th match of the East Africa Cup 2023 at the Gahanga International Cricket Stadium in Rwanda on August 30. Tanzania have played nine games, winning four, and are second in the rankings. Uganda, on the other hand, have won as many as nine of their ten matches and leads the points table.

Both these teams had squared off against one another in their last encounter, where Uganda elected to bat after winning the toss. They started well with an opening stand of 32 runs from four overs. But within a span of 11 runs, they lost three wickets, which was supposed to push them back. But that did not happen, as the middle-order batters played a counter-attacking game of cricket. None of the batters could score a fifty, but the team managed to put up a huge total of 180 runs on the board.

Tanzania started a little but was cautious in its approach. They did not score too many runs but also did not lose wickets either. Once their opening stand broke, they lost three wickets within a span of 18 runs but had a fantastic fourth-wicket partnership to bring them back into the game. The pair of Amal Rajeevan and Shaik Basha added 48 runs, but as soon as they were gone, other batters could not keep up as well, and soon they were bowled out at a mere total of 121 runs. Uganda won the match by a big margin of 59 runs.
