Preview
United Arab Emirates will lock horns with Afghanistan in the 3rd T20I match of the Afghanistan Tour of the United Arab Emirates at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on February 19. The series is poised evenly and this game will decide which team will take the trophy home. The entire series has been played on the very same ground and so Afghanistan has acclimatized to the ground well now.
The first T20I of the series was won by Afghanistan where they won the toss and elected to field. UAE started well with their top three making decent runs but Afghanistan bounced back after picking regular wickets. UAE could manage to score just 142 for the loss of five wickets. Afghanistan did not start well as they lost their top three early but the middle order played the role of show-stoppers. Afghanistan won the match by five wickets with five balls to spare.
In the second T20I, Afghanistan won the toss again but chose to bat this time. However, things did not fall in place according to their plans as they could muster only 137 runs at the expense of six wickets. The match folded out to be much more one-sided than it was thought to be as UAE batted brilliantly and chased down the score with ten balls to spare. UAE won the match easily by nine wickets with a sensational batting performance from the opener Muhammad Waseem.
