Preview
United Arab Emirates will lock horns with Papua New Guinea in the 133rd match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on March 5. UAE have won 14 games from 30 that they have played and are fifth in the standings. On the other hand, PNG are not coming with a good record as they have won just three matches from their 31 games and are languishing at the bottom of the table.
UAE played their last match against Nepal, where Nepal won the toss, and they elected to field. UAE didn’t exactly bat as they would have liked as they were a little slow and ended up with a score of 207 for the loss of eight wickets. Asif Khan and Rohan Mustafa made their respective half-centuries to bring them to this total. Nepal could not give UAE a tough fight and lost wickets regularly. They were bundled out for a mere score of 139, and UAE won the match by 68 runs.
In their last encounter, PNG squared off against Nepal, too, where they won the toss and elected to bat. They started in a rather good manner, with both their openers getting a good start. After their dismissal, other batters could not capitalize, and they managed to score just 179 runs before they were all out. Nepal had a somewhat shaky start as they lost wickets regularly, but Aarif Sheikh held one end and helped Nepal cross the line with three wickets in hand.
