Lightning started decently but lost a couple of wickets regularly until there was a good sixth-wicket partnership. Mark Donegan was the pick of the batters, who scored 87 runs off 113 balls. He was helped by some good finishing by their lower order which pushed the team to a good total of 287 runs. In reply, Reds started brilliantly as all three top-order batters reached their respective half-centuries. Even Peter Moor scored a good fifty in the middle and easily won the match for his team by five wickets.
