Preview
On July 26, at the CAA Centre in Brampton, the Vancouver Knights and Montreal Tigers will square off in the ninth game of Global T20 Canada 2023. The Montreal Tigers have now played in two games, winning both of them and are now leading the points table. The Vancouver Knights currently hold the third-place position with one victory.
In both of their previous games, the Vancouver Knights were able to pursue the target. They demonstrated their capable batting ability despite losing their first game while chasing a target in 15 overs. With the exception of Reeza Hendricks, everyone contributed significantly. They were nearing 90 at the end of nine overs and were anticipated to pursue the target easily; regrettably, a margin of 10 runs fell short, resulting in the loss. In the most recent game, the team was able to attain the target in the final over thanks to Harsh Thaker's fierce batting performance of 75 runs off just 54 balls. Their weakest link is their bowling lineup.
Since they batted second in two of their games this season, the Montreal Tigers were comparable to their opponent. They should be commended for keeping their opponent to less than 140 both times, thanks to their bowling department. By skillfully slowing the run rate, the front-line bowlers who bowl during the powerplay have consistently produced breakthroughs. Consequently, the batters were free to bat and chase seven runs per over without feeling the pressure. Since the bowlers took six wickets on average in each game, overall credit must go to them. With the help of their captain, Chris Lynn, they have exhibited strong top-order performances.
