Vancouver Knights will lock horns with Toronto Nationals in the 2nd match of the Global T20 Canada at the CAA Centre in Brampton on July 21. This is going to be the first match for both teams this season of the tournament. Both teams would be looking forward to winning this match and gaining early momentum in the tournament.
Vancouver Knights had squared off against Winnipeg Hawks in their last match, which was the final match of the tournament in the last season where Vancouver Knights had won the toss and elected to field. Hawks batters looked in great touch and scored runs heavily, which made the team post a huge total of 192 runs on the board. Knights started slow, but their middle order brought them back into the game, due to which the match got interesting and the match got tied by the end of the innings. The match went into the super over, where Hawks finally managed to win the match and were crowned champions of the last season.
Toronto Nationals had played against Winnipeg Hawks in their last encounter, where the toss was won by Winnipeg Hawks, who had chosen to field. Nationals made the most of being put to bat first, where they not just had an explosive start but continued at a much better pace. Heinrich Klaasen played a fantastic knock of 106 runs owing to which Nationals posted a mammoth total of 238 runs on the board. The Hawks did not back off from the target and were in the chase at a good pace. They were at the score of 201 runs at the loss of five wickets after 17.1 overs when rain interrupted the match, and by DLS method, Hawks won the match by two runs.
