Preview
Match 40 of the T20 World Cup 2024 will see a high-intensity encounter as the two unbeaten teams from Group C go head-to-head. With three out of three wins, Afghanistan and West Indies have secured their berths in the Super Eights and will now aim to finish as table toppers.
Afghanistan are currently at the top spot after remarkable victories that helped them achieve the highest net run rate in the league stage - +4.230. They opened the campaign with a 125-run win over Oman and followed it up with a massive 84-run win over New Zealand and a seven-wicket win over Papua New Guinea (PNG).
On the other hand, the co-hosts West Indies started with a five-wicket win over PNG, then a mammoth 134-run win over Uganda, and a 13-run victory over New Zealand. Given the performances of both the teams so far, it is very difficult to pick favourites. But if the pitch offers a good amount of turn, the Asian side is more likely to get the upper hand.
