Preview

India will be up against West Indies in the 2nd T20I match of the India Tour of West Indies at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on August 6. They have already played one match in the series which got to be quite interesting West Indies managed to clinch victory on the very last ball of the match. India would be looking forward to making a strong comeback and winning the second match.
Both the teams squared off against each other in the first T20I match of the series which was played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba where the toss was won by West Indies and as expected they elected to bat. They had a decent start, scoring 29 runs in four overs for their opening partnership. Then they lost a couple of wickets in quick succession and it looked like they would be in a bit of trouble but that is when Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell joined hands to stitch together a good partnership. They both scored 41 and 48 respectively which helped the team reach a decent total of 149.
India was slow and had a sluggish start losing Shubhman Gill just at the score of five runs. Some decent runs were scored by the next pair of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav, but then Kishan left soon. Tilak Verman looked the most impressive one on the field while scoring 33 runs off just 22 balls but could not take it much forward. India kept losing wickets at regular intervals which kept them back in the game and eventually when it was time to finish off the game, they lacked batters on the crease. By the end, they could only score 145 runs and lost the match by four runs.
