Preview

West Indies will lock horns with Nepal in the 9th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Harare Sports Club. Two-time Champions West Indies won their first match against the United States of America, while Nepal won one of their two matches. West Indies are currently sitting in the second position, and Nepal are in the third. The top three teams from each group will qualify for the super six stage. So, each match is crucial for every team.

West Indies began their CWC Qualifiers 2023, winning over the United States Of America (USA) by 39 runs. Half-centuries from skipper Shai Hope, Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, and Jason Holder helped them to post 297 on the board. In reply, Gajanand Singh, the lone warrior for the United States, scored his maiden ODI century, but it wasn't enough to take his team home as the USA fell short by 39 runs.

On the other hand, Nepal lost their first match against Zimbabwe and won their second match against the United States Of America. Nepal posted 290 runs for the loss of eight wickets after being asked to bat first by Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe's skipper Craig Ervine scored 121* (128), and Sean Williams scored 102*(70), which helped Zimbabwe win the game. In the second match, Nepal asked the United States of America to bat first and dismissed them for 207. This time wicketkeeper-batter Shayan Jahangir was the lone warrior with 100* (79). In reply, Nepal chased down the score comfortably with 7 overs to spare.
