Preview
The hosts, Zimbabwe, are all set to take on Afghanistan in the first Test match of the two-match series slated to take place on December 26 at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo. The attention now shifts to the longer version of the game after the ODI and T20I series. The Chevrons seem to have a tough time battling against the Afghan side in their backyard.
The Afghan won the T20I series by 2-1, before grabbing the ODI series with a 2-0 margin. The two countries, despite being full member nations of the ICC, are not a part of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle. The visitors will be keen to maintain their form to grab the last series of the tour. On the other hand, the hosts will be eager to win this series after losing the white-ball series.
While it is a fresh start with the red-ball format, the Chevrons would want to stamp their authority after losing the white-ball format. In contrast, Hasmahtullah Shahidi and his men aim to mark a whitewash with a Test series win to end their tour on a high note.
