Preview

Zimbabwe will lock horns with Scotland in the 6th match of the Super Sixes round of the ICC World Cup Qualifier 2023 at the Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo on July 4. Zimbabwe have won three of their four matches and are in the second position. Scotland, on the other hand, have won all their four matches and are at the top of the table.

Zimbabwe had played against Sri Lanka in their last match, where Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field. Zimbabwe were off to a horrible start as they had lost three wickets at the score of just 30 runs. They had an excellent fourth wicket partnership but still could not save the team from having a collapse, and the team was bundled out for 165, where Sean Williams scored a fantastic fifty. Sri Lanka had no problems chasing the target due to the opening stand of 103 runs. Nissanka scored an unbeaten century and helped the team easily chase the target with 17 overs to spare.

Scotland had squared off against West Indies in their last match, where Scotland won the toss and elected to bowl. West Indies did not start the innings as they would have liked to, losing four wickets just at the score of 30. Their lower middle order did try and score some runs but were still bowled out for a below-par score of 181 runs. Scotland lost their first wicket early but had a beautiful second-wicket partnership to compensate. They lost just three wickets in the process and chased down the score with more than six overs. Brandon McMullen was awarded Player of the Match for his contributions with the bat as well as the ball.
