Lizelle Lee, the South Africa women’s cricketer entered the wedlock with her partner Tanja Cronje. The couple were expected to tie the knot back on April 10, but the COVID-19 pandemic led to its delay. Back in April, the African nation was going through a 21-day lockdown period and the 28-year-old Lee was at her parent’s home in Ermelo, solving a puzzle.

It was the time when the coronavirus outbreak was running at full throttle with most part of the world under its stranglehold. For Lee, she had to wait before getting hitched to her partner. After the development, Lee posted an adorable picture from their wedding.

The cricketer captioned the picture and wrote, “Now I get to call you my wife. Special day spent with special people! Love you so much.”

Here’s Lizelle Lee’s post: –

Lee has been a crucial member of the national women’s team ever since she made her debut against Bangladesh way back in September 2013. In ODI and T20I cricket, she has been a brute force to reckon with. In one Test, 82 ODIs and 74 T20Is, Lee has six, 2,602 and 1,664 runs respectively. She also has three centuries and as many as 29 fifties to show for her efforts.

She last played competitive cricket in the month of March during the Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. In four matches during the mega event, she smashed 119 runs at an average of 29.75. Though she failed in three of those games, she clobbered a 60-ball century against Thailand at the Manuka Oval in Canberra, giving an account of the talent she possesses.

In the tournament, her team bowed out after a defeat to Australia in the semis. She can also bowl handy medium fast and has three ODI wickets to her name. Had the pandemic not arrived, Lee would also have played in the home series against Australia, consisting of three ODIs and as many T20Is.

As a team, Lee said that South Africa prefers to take the fearless route. “We don’t fear any opposition. We want to play the best in the world, and we want to beat them and ultimately show that we are a team to be reckoned with,” Lee had said.
