'Lovely to see such a massive stadium' - Sourav Ganguly responds as BCCI shares bird's eye view of world's largest cricket stadium
The BCCI’s official Twitter handle had shared aerial images of the newly built Motera Stadium, which will be inaugurated by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump on his upcoming visit to India.
The New Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad has become quite an intriguing topic of discussion amongst the cricket fraternity. It has been confirmed that this cricket stadium will be the largest of all time in terms of seats, beating even the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), which holds 1,00,024 people in it.
The Gujarat Cricket Association owned stadium was previously inaugurated in 1982 with a capacity of 49,000 and was demolished to make it bigger and equipped with modern facilities. The capacity has been increased to 1,10,000 plus and covers an area of 63 acres. The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) is preparing 11 pitches with both red and black soil — they will either be bouncy, spin-friendly or a mix of both.

It was established in 1864.
