The seventh match of IPL 2022 is all set to be an action between a debutant and one of the most consistent sides of the Indian T20 league. Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants will rub shoulders against each other at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium to open their respective accounts in the points table. Both the sides would be marching into the clash on the back of a loss each in their opening fixture against Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders respectively.

Talking of the defending champions, things didn’t go well for them against Shreyas Iyer and his men in the opening game as they could touch only 131 runs on the scoreboard. However, if there was one thing for CSK fans to cheer and be happy about, it was a masterclass from their beloved skipper yet again. Dhoni let his bat talk after a long time in CSK’s first game and notched up a much-needed fifty to push his side forward. As the fifty came in a losing cause, the yellow army would be expecting a better show from their batting order, a department that remained unticked against KKR.

Talking of Lucknow Super Giants, things didn’t start well for them either as they saw the young talent Ayush Badoni rising to the occasion whereas seasoned campaigners like KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock had an off day. Deepak Hooda was another man flaunting class in their debut game and moving forward, a better show would be expected from their top order should they wish to stand a chance against Dhoni’s men.

Pitch and Conditions

The match is all set to take place at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai which has hosted one day-match so far and the chasing team came out victorious. It is likely that the winning captain would go with bowling first. The surface is expected to assist spinners and the temperature is expected to remain around 35 degrees C. No rainfall is expected on the match day and it is expected to be a clear day.
