Nicholas Pooran has the most runs in the clash between the two sides with 172. Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul follow with 157 and 153 runs respectively. The wickets chart is front-loaded with spinners as the top two wicket takers in this clash are Ravi Bishnoi with 10 and Kuldeep Yadav with 9. Shardul Thakur is third with 6.
The two sides opened their IPL 2025 campaings against each other at Visakhapatnam. The game proved to be an absolute cracker. Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran made 70's, but their wickets slowed LSG down considerably to finish with just 210 after they were staring at a total in excess of 230 at one point. Shardul Thakur's double strike in the first over screwed over DC's chase. DC were reduced to 7/3 and every time they tried to claw their way back, they lost more and more wickets. Eventually, it came down to debutant Vipraj Nigam and Ashutosh Sharma to rescue DC. Even though Sharma struggled at the start, Nigam showered in a flurry of boundaries that gave DC hope even though they needed 92 runs from 42 balls at one point. Once Nigam was dismissed, Sharma brought his A-game to the fore marshalling the tail and securing a one-wicket win in a tense last over.
