Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) did a double over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by beating them in both the league phase meetings in IPL 2023.
Lucknow Super Giants had a debut season to remember, as they won nine out fourteen games and finished third in the table, sharing equal number of wins with Rajasthan Royals. They failed to go past Eliminator as they lost against RCB by close margin of 14 runs.
KL Rahul enjoyed the season, being the second leading run-getter in the tournament. He along with Quinton de Kock registered a world-record 210-run partnership for the first-wicket against KKR.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, have had a forgettable last three seasons as they failed to progress for the playoffs, having last made the cut in the 2020 edition of the IPL.

KL Rahul leads the batting chart with 103 runs and is followed up by Rahul Tripathi (98) at the second spot and Nicholas Pooran (89) at the third spot. In the bowling department, Krunal Pandya tops the chart with seven scalps and is followed up by Avesh khan (5) at the second spot and Jason Holder and Amit Mishra (both 3) at the third position.
Both sides last met in Match No. 58 of IPL 2023 at Hyderabad where the Super Giants won the contest by a margin of seven wickets. The home team batted first and posted 182/6 on the board in their allotted 20 overs. Heinrich Klaasens scored 47 while Anmolpreet Singh amassed 36. Krunal Pandya was the pick of the LSG bowlers for his spell of 2/24 (4). In reply, Prerak Mankad scored a solid unbeaten half-century (64 off 45) while Marcus Stoinis and Pooran hit 40 and 44* runs respectively as the visitors sealed the deal with four balls to spare.
