Temba Bavuma has been plying his trade for South Africa for more than five years. And even though he isn’t massive in stature, he has been able to carve his niche in the Proteas lineup across formats. Recently, he also opened the batting alongside Quinton de Kock in the T20Is against England that the visitors lost 1-2 after victory in the opener. Bavuma had a few injury concerns though after that.

He was even in contention to become Faf du Plessis’ successor as the skipper of the national team. But that wasn’t the case as Quinton de Kock was appointed as the T20I and ODI skipper. The captain of the Test side hasn’t been announced though with Faf stepping aside after the 1-3 defeat at the hands of the Three Lions. Currently, no cricket tournament is taking place in the world.

Bavuma and South Africa enjoying their heart out

The same is due to the coronavirus outbreak, which has got the world on the edge of their seats. The pandemic has taken quite a bit of toll and the turbulence isn’t showing signs of slowing down. South Africa, recently, was in India for an ODI series. But that had to be cancelled. After the opening match in Dharamsala was abandoned, the matches in Lucknow and Kolkata was called off.

In the meantime, while there’s no cricket, Bavuma and the rest of the South African team was involved in a game of kick volleyball. It was to engage themselves in some fun and frolic moments amid tensions of the COVID-19 outbreak.

However, Lungi Ngidi, the Proteas fast bowler, caught Bavuma ‘blatantly cheating’ during the games. And going by the pacer’s words, Bavuma was using his ‘senior powers’ to ‘change the decision’.

The speedster captioned the video, tagging his teammate Andile Phehlukwayo, and wrote. “@tbavuma10 blatantly CHEATING!!! @andileluck19 he’s using senior powers to change the decision….HONESTY CALL???”

Phehlukwayo also seemed to agree with what Ngidi said, mentioning that Bavuma was indeed ‘abusing’. It’s pretty much given that one has to obey by the words of a senior player, no matter how much illogical those words can be.
