M Chinnaswamy crowd forces skipper Kohli to use Jadeja

India might not have been at their very best in the ongoing Test Series against Australia finding themselves 1-0 down in the contest but that has not prevented a stormy Bangalore crowd from highlighting their energy. The 2nd day of the 2nd Test match saw something the world of cricket have rarely seen in their entire history. A highly spirited Bangalore crowd forced Captain Virat Kohli to give the ball to Ravindra Jadeja.

As team India made a gutsy comeback into the test after being bundled out on the first day for 189, the people inside the stadium stood behind the Indian team as a fulcrum to provide the right amount of mental support they needed. Scaring the Aussies with their roar when Renshaw blocked Ashwin and now tipping captain Virat Kohli to make a change, the Bangalore crowd has done it all.

Ravindra Jadeja did not get much time with the ball in the innings compared to teammate Ravichandran Ashwin though Jadeja has been the most likely to grab a wicket. He had been used for 21 overs which is like the half of what Ashwin got to bowl.

As the match went on to the last session, Ishant Sharma and Ravi Ashwin saw themselves drained, bowling their hearts out on their pitch. Shaun Marsh had already rooted his position on the 22 yards while Matthew Wade looked cool as a cucumber on the other hand.

Ashwin was about to bowl his 40th over and had already handed over his cap to the umpire. The 97th over was about to begin when the Bangalore crowd decided to take the matter into their own hands. We heard a loud chanting from the crowd which went like “we want Jaddu! We want Jaddu” advising Virat Kohli to bring Ravindra Jadeja into the action.

Skipper Virat Kohli immediately obliged to their demand and instructed Jadeja to take the ball while Ashwin took his cap back from the umpire and geared up to field. It was a moment to remember for the people in the stands as they had their dream of captaining the Indian team fulfilled be it for a matter of seconds. This action from the crowd might have helped Virat Kohli too as he found himself out of ideas with the Australians taking control of the match.
