Mahmudullah named as USAID's Goodwill Ambassador in Bangladesh

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Bangladesh has recently named star all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad as their Goodwill Ambassador for youth and development in Bangladesh. The all-rounder is one of the most popular faces in the country among the youth. Hence, the USAID decided to sign him as their ambassador. The announcement was recently made at a press conference conducted by the USAID.
Under this signing, Mahmudullah will be expected to engage the youth of the country through the means of the social media and public meetings. The agenda of these meets would be to empower the youth in the country. He will emphasize on the key notes of the importance of education, nutrition, and gender violence among the youth. The USAID Mission Director of the Bangladesh wing confirmed the same in a media announcement.
“We know that as USAID’s Goodwill Ambassador, Mahmudullah Riyad will help us to ensure that youth are at the forefront of Bangladesh’s development efforts. As a national inspiration and international sports champion, Mahmudullah will be a powerful force and inspiring voice in working with USAID to raise awareness and mobilize youth to achieve core development objectives in Bangladesh,” Janina Jaruzelski, USAID/Bangladesh Mission Director, quoted as per the reports in Daily-sun.com.
Honor for the cricketer
Meanwhile, Mahmudullah also conceded that it is an honor for him to be a part of the initiative. He stressed on the fact that the youth of the country need to know that they are capable of shaping up the future of the country. He is keen on doing his bit for the cause of the nation.
“We need to do more to show today’s youth that they have the power to influence their communities and shape the future of this country. That’s why I consider this partnership with USAID and this opportunity to serve as Goodwill Ambassador to be a great honor,” quoted Mahmudullah.
