Delhi Capitals’ spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has refused to perform the ‘Vaathi Coming’ shoulder drop step with his teammate Shikhar Dhawan. The ‘Vaathi coming’ song, in which South Indian movie star Vijay was seen dancing, has become one of the most popular songs in recent times. Ashwin had danced to this song before as well.
During the Test series against England earlier this year, Ashwin was seen performing in the dressing room with Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav. The video of the trio dancing to the ‘Vaathi Coming’ song had gone viral on social media. On Monday, Delhi Capitals shared a video in which Ashwin was seen refusing to perform on the same song alongside Dhawan.
Other than Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw and Umesh Yadav were also seen trying to ask Ashwin to also perform the famous step. But, Ashwin held his ground and said that he will not be doing it. He was seen saying, “Main nahi kar raha hoon,” which means “I am not doing it” in Hindi.

The Capitals team started their IPL 2021 campaign with a bang in Mumbai on Saturday. They defeated Chennai Super Kings by seven wickets chasing a total of 189 at the Wankhede Stadium. Dhawan and Shaw starred with the bat. The young opener Shaw smashed 72 off 38 balls while senior pro Dhawan scored 85 runs off 48 balls.
