BCCI President Sourav Ganguly celebrated his 49th birthday on July 08, 2021, and several famed names across various fields lined up to shower wishes. From cricketers to big politicians, all had love and wishes for one of the best cricketers of India. However, there was another highlight from his big day which created a lot of buzz. West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee paid a visit to Ganguly at his residence on his birthday.

It has to be noted that Banerjee has reached Ganguly’s house on various occasions and this was not the first time. She visited him in January when the former cricketer suffered a cardiac arrest. Bengal CM meeting Ganguly has created a lot of political buzz as people are expecting if Dada has any political inclinations.

It was only sometimes back that media reported that Ganguly is mulling to join hands with BJP but that didn’t turn out to be true. The 49-year-old cricketer is maintaining a low-profile post-Bengal election. He doesn’t indulge much in political matters and is even not very active on social media. He is mainly focusing on cricket-related matters owing to the big charge he is being given with BCCI. It will be seen if Bengal CM’s meeting with Dada will churn out any political results.

Several cricketers wished Sourav Ganguly on his big day

Apart from that, it was reported that Ganguly celebrated his 49th birthday at home with his family. Several big cricketers showered him with a lot of wishes and love over social media. ICC also paid a special tribute to him by posting a video of his three big achievements in his career. It has to be noted that Ganguly took hold the charge of the Indian team in its darkest hours and led the lot with a lot of confidence.

He backed his players and instilled a feeling of fearlessness and confidence in them. A lot of cricketers still owe him a lot for developing their career paths well in the field of cricket.
