Very seldom you see a side losing after scoring 200-plus runs in the T20 matches. However, this wasn’t the case during the last night’s game in the Indian Premier League where Chennai Super Kings chased down the target of 202 set by the Kolkata Night Riders at the home ground where they returned to play after serving the 2-year ban.
KKR bowler Vinay Kumar became to troll material for the people all over social media as the bowler failed to defend 17 runs in the last over against Ravindra Jadeja and Dwyane Bravo. Former India opener and cricket commentator Aakash Chopra too joined the bandwagon and posted a Tweet which highlighted the poor outing of the bowler.
Manoj Tiwary comes out in support of Vinay Kumar
Chopra in the Tweet highlighted the amount of runs Kumar has conceded thus far in this season of the Indian Premier League.
Manoj Tiwary after seeing the Tweet of Aakash Chopra responded to the commentator not to highlight someone’s bad performance as no one wants to do bad for the team. He added that Chopra being a cricketer himself should feel for the bowler instead of highlighting his bad outing.
KKR had posted a massive total after being asked to bat first by the CSK skipper. Things didn’t look good for the Karthik-led side but Andre Russell’s heroics in the final 5 overs took the total over 200. The West Indian player demolished his countryman Dwyane Bravo as he smashed him 6 sixes in 2 overs.
CSK, in the search for massive total, started well but KKR spinners derailed them with a couple of wickets. Struggling Dhoni didn’t help CSK’s cause even a bit. It was Sam Billings who by playing a blinder of an innings took CSK closer to the target. He got out to Sam Curran in the 19th over for 56 runs.
With 17 runs to defend against Jadeja and Bravo, Kumar started with a waist-high full toss which Bravo helped on its way to six and the ball was called a no-ball. Jadeja then smashed another six on the penultimate ball of the innings to seal the win for his side.
Aakash Chopra’s Tweet and Tiwary’s response:
Hi Aakash bhai. Would humbly request u 2 plz don’t highlight his performances which has not gone d way he wanted it 2 go. Nobody wants to do badly and u hav been a cricketer urself. Let’s feel for him instead. It’s a Request from a small brother 2 a big brother ?
