Massive bidding expected if Hardik Pandya enters IPL 2018 Auctions

Over the years, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has carved a reputation for itself as one of the most admired domestic T20 cricketing leagues around the globe. Right from the beginning of the auctions till the grand finale, there’s no dearth of excitement, surrounding the extravaganza. However, there have been several chopping and changing regarding the format of the tournament. Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has put forward the idea of retaining a maximum of three players before the auctions take centre-stage.

Like erstwhile auctions, several bidding wars are expected to unfold for the 11th season of the event. The likes of MS Dhoni, Ben Stokes and several other big names are expected to go under the hammer. Meanwhile, a BCCI official said that Pandya has also expressed his desire to be a part of the auctions. “Hardik wants to be at the auction and the rule says that if he isn’t ready to play for Mumbai Indians, he can certainly be at the auction,” the official was quoted by TOI.

He also mentioned that Pandya’s inclusion in the auctions might be the next huge thing in the history of the tournament. “Pandya could be the next big thing in the IPL if he is at the auction. After all, the teams will retain big India players like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma,” he added. There have also been rumours that the Virat Kohli captained Royal Challengers Bangalore team is eager to sign the boisterous all-rounder from Baroda.

An exciting auction in store

Hardik with the passage of time has groomed himself into an indispensable element of whichever side he represents. Two seasons ago, he was snapped by the Mumbai Indians for 10 Lakhs. If the all-rounder hits the auctions, then he will most definitely go above the price, he was sold for initially, if not smash a few records in the history of IPL auctions.
