With the much awaited 4 match Test series between India and Australia scheduled to begin in a fortnight’s time, the Aussies are doing every possible thing to come well prepared for the tough and grueling tour. Steve Smith and Co will definitely look to make a turnaround in subcontinental conditions after failing to win a single match here since 2011. In their previous series in 2013, India thrashed them 4-0 and they were again whitewashed 3-0 in Sri Lanka last year. So it will be a big test for Smith and his young brigade.
Relatively new to the team, Matt Renshaw has been brilliant in the limited opportunities he got but will be wary of the fact that India will be a totally different challenge and one thrives to succeed in these alien condition. Renshaw has gone on to seek advice from another southpaw Matthew Hayden who had a brilliant time playing in Indian conditions. He was sublime during the historic 2001 series which India won by a 2-1 margin. He was a great exponent of the sweep shot and it might be a lethal weapon for Renshaw as well if he wants to counter the deadly duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
