The Australian team has been encountering turbulence ever since shame ball-tampering incident sparked. The players and the support staff have been demolished psychologically following the incident as Australian cricket has been going through one of the gloomiest phases of their cricket. Subsequently, there has been quite a few alterations in the team.

Recently, the team has decided to rope in Matthew Renshaw for the fourth and the final Test at the Wanderers in Johannesburg which starts on Friday. The Yorkshire-born cricketer last represented the national team during the tour of Bangladesh back in July-September. However, owing to lackluster performances, he was dropped for the Ashes against England last year.

The journey for Renshaw

The left-handed batsman would be hoping to make a mark in the game, provided he gets an opportunity in the playing eleven, and stake his claim back in the team. Renshaw has played 10 Tests in which he has scored 623 runs at an average of 43.78. His highest score of 184 runs came against Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground in January 2017 which marked his foray into international cricket.

Meanwhile, Australian team would be looking to recover the massive jolt they suffered in the previous Test. The team has been greeted with severe backlash from the cricketing fraternity following the shambolic incident. Steve Smith stepped down as the skipper for the final two days of the incident. Tim Paine shouldered the mantle of captaincy for the remainder of the Test.

Smith was also handed a ban of one Test and a fine of 100 percent of his match fees. Most recently, Darren Lehmann, the head coach of Australia, has also decided to step down from his role. The fourth Test will be more of a psychological battle for the team than the contest on the cricket pitch.
