‘Mauka-mauka’ resurfaces ahead of the India-Pakistan clash on June 4
The Mauka-mauka series is back with a new advertisement ahead of Sunday's big clash between India and Pakistan at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
Pakistan played India in a bilateral series for the last time when they toured India to play 2 T20s and a 3-match ODI series in 2012. Since then both teams have gone head to head only in the major ICC events apart from Asia Cup. There is a sense of excitement already ahead of both sides game in the ICC Champions Trophy on June 4.
India have had a lid over arch-rivals Pakistan in ICC events. They have dominated their neighbours every time they are head to head in big competitions, especially the World Cup. They yet again start as favourites ahead of their clash which is still a week later.
Whenever the two teams are going to lock horns, both countries attempt to mock each other, especially on social media. India, in an attempt to mock Pakistan’s abysmal world cup record against India, launched the ‘Mauka-mauka’ series.
Ahead of the eighth edition of the Champions Trophy, ‘V Seven Pictures’ has taken the ‘Mauka-mauka’ series to another level. The makers of the video showed a Pakistani cricketer happy about India not participating in the mega event. He was confident of a Pakistan victory till he finds out about India’s participation and is in disarray as he knows that his side won’t stand a chance against them.
The video is set to take social media by storm as fans from both countries will be involved in heated arguments ahead of the game. Since both teams haven’t got head to head against each other since their Asia Cup clash in 2016, the excitement amongst fans from both countries is at an all-time high.
Kohli downplays extra pressure
Both sides are always under extreme pressure before their clash. Indian skipper Virat Kohli has downplayed any extra pressure as he said that his team will be treating this clash as just another game.
The game will commence at Edgbaston in Birmingham. India and Pakistan will be playing their first game of the tournament and will offer a visual treat to the millions of fans around the world.
