MCA lift Shah Rukh Khan’s Wankhede ban: String of happy events has left Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan in ecstasy as the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has decided to lift the 5-year ban imposed upon him from entering the Wankhede stadium. Earlier the actor celebrated his team Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel’s success in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as they defeated Barbados Tridents to walk away with the trophy for the first time. MCA in its managing committee meeting on Sunday decided to reduce Shah Rukh Khan’s ban to 3 years.
Shah Rukh was charged with a 5 year ban for involving in a brawl and diatribe with the security guard after the match between Mumbai Indians and his side in 2012. Since then the actor has not shown up at the Wankhede complying with the ban. MCA has decided to lift the ban on the KKR owner considering the fact that he has adhered to the proscription and has never tried to violate it under any circumstances.
It is found that BCCI and the IPL Governing Council chairman Rajiv Shukla are also backing MCA decision to lift the ban on the film star. Khan is one of the biggest names in the Indian cinema and his presence at the stadia during the matches amplifies the atmosphere to the next level. Indian fans would love to see Shah Rukh at the stands of the colossal Wankhede, waving the flag to support his side. SRK would be eagerly waiting to hear the official announcement from MCA to throw the party to rejoice this moment of joy.
After the Association’s meeting on Sunday MCA vice-president Ashish Shelar told reporters about the decision, “Today, in the MCA meeting, it was decided that the ban imposed on IPL’s Kolkata franchise owner Shah Rukh Khan should be lifted. With the prior approval of our President Sharad Pawar, it was proposed by me that the ban on him be lifted and the managing committee approved it unanimously. Therefore, the ban on his entry in the Wankhede Stadium has been revoked,”
