MCC permits Indian fans to use drums in the WWC final
Though the Bharat Army has been allowed to bring one dhol, while instruments such as the horns and vuvuzelas will not be permitted.
The ongoing edition of Women’s World Cup has witnessed some splendid cricketing moments so far in the tournament. The stirring performances, the unbelievable energy, the incredible efforts applied and the time spent together as a team has made the World Cup a spectacle to watch.
Talking about the Indian team, the girls have produced some prodigious sporting moments that has encompassed a wide array of emotions in unison in a country of billions. They now have a chance to become World Champions for the very first time in a tournament that has been dominated by England and Australia since its inception.
Super clash
It’s all set to be a Super Sunday at Lord’s as the Indian women’s team is expected to play England in the final of the World Cup. While both teams might be intrigued to get the better out of each other, there’s some good news coming in terms of the support wave for the ladies when they take the field.
Bharat Army, the Indian fan group which travels worldwide to follow India’s cricketing itinerary has been given permission by the Lord’s management to carry drummers all the way to the stadium. While previously the Barmy Army, the English fan group wasn’t allowed to carry instruments such as the trumpet, the MCC has discussed with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and decided to make an exception for the final.
Though the Bharat Army has been allowed to bring one dhol, while instruments such as the horns and vuvuzelas will not be permitted.
The ICC is leaving no stone unturned in making the final a buzzing and entertaining one. They have also decided to distribute Indian and English flags, another tradition which isn’t quite keenly followed at Lord’s. The flags will be split evenly as we might see the Bhangra being played in competition with the trumpets in tomorrow’s game.
