However, the game of cricket is considered a uniting factor. The cricketers from both nations have respect and admiration for each other.
Also, the Indian and Pakistani cricketers boast of having a massive fan following in Pakistan and India respectively. Last year, Pakistan’s decorated seamer Hasan Ali’s wife, Samiya Arzoo gained a lot of limelight when she hailed the Indian skipper Virat Kohli as her favorite batsman.
Kohli is arguably the best batsman of the modern era. The 32-year-old has stamped his authority in all formats of international cricket. He is the only current player to feature in the Top 5 of the batsmen rankings by the International Cricket Council (ICC) of all three formats.
Last year, when the world was under lockdown in March 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Samiya Arzoo decided to host a Question and Answer session on her official Instagram handle. During the interactive interaction, a fan asked Samiya to name her favorite batsman while presuming that her husband, Hasan is her favorite bowler.
Samiya and Hasan tied the knot in August 2019
Samiya took note of the question and was quick to reply that the Indian skipper is her favorite batsman. The answer by Hasan’s wife gained a lot of limelight on social media as many fans came up with memes and jokes about the same.
Notably, Samiya is a Dubai-based Indian girl who was born in Haryana. She is a flight engineer with Emirates Airlines, while her family is settled in New Delhi. Samiya met Hasan for the first time in Dubai during a dinner date and eventually, their friendship turned into a love affair. The two finally got hitched in a private ceremony on August 20, 2019.
Hasan Ali last featured in a competitive game during the two-match away Test series against Zimbabwe. The 26-year-old picked a stunning 14 wickets at an average of 8.92. The pacer was the wrecker-in-chief for the Men in Green as they registered victory in the Test series by 2-0.
