Bangladesh spinner Mehedi Hasan set to replace Hogg for the Trinbago Knight Riders

Bangladesh has hugely developed as a cricketing nation in the past few years and has put up an excellent show against Sri Lanka lately. Mehedi Hasan, Bangladesh’s right arm off break bowler has been a key part of this improved Bangladeshi side and has performed really well against the Sri Lankans. The rise of the bowler has been interesting to watch and he has now been included in the Trinbago Knight Riders squad as a replacement for veteran Brad Hogg in the Caribbean Premier League.

The tournament is expected to start from the 1^st of August and is likely to clash with Bangladesh’s home series in Pakistan as a result of which Mehedi could miss a number of matches. Mehedi, looking at the kind of form he is in will only get better.

The player believes that playing in the Caribbean Premier League will teach him a lot of things and make him a more experienced player than he is now. He is also looking forward to playing with the other superstars in the league and learn from them. According to the cricketer, this league will do a lot of benefit to his standard of cricket which he is very keen on improving.

“I am really happy to have got this opportunity. I will get to play with really good cricketers in that tournament. It will improve my standard of cricket.”

Before Mehedi only two Bangladeshi players have been a part of the Caribbean Premier League, the names being Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal. Tamim played only the inaugural season in 2013, while Shakib has played two seasons so far and is set feature once again for Jamaica Tallawahs in the fifth edition of the tournament. Abdur Razzak, Mohammad Ashraful, Mashrafe Mortaza, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah and Mustafizur Rahman are the other players who will be playing in the league as they have been picked up by different franchises.
