Members tickets forced to go up for general sale at Lords due to crazy demand for WWC final

Women’s cricket is slowly but steadily becoming as popular as that of the men’s. People are starting to accept it on a much larger scale and the rush for the ICC Women’s World Cup final tickets is a proof of the same.

The final of the Women’s World Cup will surely be a cracker and the high demand for the tickets have forced the committee to put the member’s tickets for general sale. The final will be played at Lords between England and India and the crowd cannot wait for the action to begin.
The English women defeated the South Africans in a two wicket victory which saw them book a berth in the grand finale. Large numbers of Marylebone Cricket Club members having yet to suggest if they will be at the ‘Home of Cricket’ to watch as the host nation look to win their first major trophy since 2009.
The number of members those who have received badges for the final counts to an approximate 1050 with a further 1,700 Rover tickets, for members family and friends, being sold.
The Marylebone Cricket Club who owns the iconic Lords stadium allotted the Tavern stand to the general audience on Wednesday. The Allen stand will also be designated for the public on Thursday if they do not find any more members who are sure to attend the final.

Meanwhile, the Indians were the second team to enter the final as they crushed favourites Australia to book a date against the hosts at Lords. Harmanpreet Kaur was the star of the show as the batsman played a fairy tale knock of 171 runs which saw India put up a total of 281 in a 42 over match. The Aussies gave tough competition but could not cross the Indian hurdle as they were bundled out for 245 runs in 40 overs.
