Mumbai Indians (MI) have certainly been the most dominant team in the IPL. They have been the champions in 2019 and 2020. The team has maintained its core group of players, which is one of the major reasons for their consistent performance in the tournament.
Rajasthan Royals (RR), on the other hand, after few failures, have been the finalist in the last season. Rajasthan Royals were the champions of the inaugural IPL season, but have been disappointing with their performances since then till 2021. In their latest clash during the 2024 edition, Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium by six wickets.
MI vs RR Head to Head:
Mumbai Indians are just a tad ahead of Rajasthan Royals in terms of the head-to-head record in the IPL. In 30 clashes, Rajasthan have won 14 games, while Mumbai emerged winners 15 times, with 1 match getting abandoned in 2009. However, since 2018, Rajasthan have been ahead, winning 6 out of 10 matches they have played against Mumbai. In IPL 2018 and 2019, RR won all 4 games which they played against MI in the league stages. The IPL 2014 game between these teams, when Aditya Tare hit a six to ensure a playoff berth for his side, is still etched in the memories of cricket fans.

But Tilak Varma with a very good and Nehal Wadhera with a complementary 49 pulled things back for MI before Sandeep Sharma returned in the death overs to complete his fifer and restrict MI to 180.
