Michael Clarke eagerly awaits Pakistan’s tour down under
Former Australia skipper Michael Clarke has congratulated Pakistan on their ascend to the world number one ranking. However, he also seemingly issued a warning stating that the Aussies would do everything they possibly could to make a comeback to the reckoning of the Test scene and snatch the world ranking back from Pakistan.
The 2-2 draw at the hands of England saw Pakistan accumulate enough rating points so that they could topple India to the top ranking in Tests. The condition for the Indians to win more rating points would only have come with the Indians managing to win the fourth and final Test match of the ongoing WI v IND series. However, the Indians have managed to bowl just the 20 odd overs and the final day’s play now looms over the horizon.
Earlier this month, Sri Lanka had snatched the world ranking out of Australia’s hands by force courtesy of a 3-0 whitewash in the recently concluded Test series. This has seen Steve Smith and his Australian side slip drastically down the rankings to the number three spot.
Misbah-ul-Haq, the captain of the Pakistan Test side had earlier revealed that he was most certainly not planning on a retirement anytime soon as he would have to accompany the Test side on difficult tours of England and Australia. With the England tour well and truly out of the way, Misbah and Michael Clarke will now look forward to the upcoming Australian tour which will be played in the Australian summer.

One of the Clarke’s followers on Twitter asked about his message on the number one Test ranked team Pakistan. Clarke’s reply read: “If this is the case, congratulations Pakistan. Makes for a great summer in Australia.”
