Michael Clarke expected to return to Australian domestic cricket

Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke, who last played a limited overs match in the World Cup finals, is all set to play in the Australian domestic cricket this year.
As per the reports in cricket.com.au, Clarke is likely to plat the one-day domestic tournament Matador Cup and is also scheduled to feature in the Big Bash League this year. He has held discussions with the New South Wales team about the possibilities of playing in the Matador BBQ’s one day cup this year and the Big Bash League.
Clarke hasn’t confirmed the same yet but the NSW have confirmed holding discussions with him. The Sydney Sixers are keen on roping him in for the BBL and have met the veteran batsman for the same. In the past, Clarke has been with the Sydney Thunder and the Melbourne Stars in the past but hasn’t played a match in the Big Bash league.
Michael Clarke stepped down as the skipper of the national team and announced his retirement after the Ashes debacle last year but maintained that he might make a comeback to the sport. Recently, he announced that he will turn up for the two-day T20 competition in Hong Kong, which will take place on May 28 and May 29. He signed up for the Kowloon Cantons in the tournament and this will mark his comeback in cricket.
Speaking on his participation, he had quoted, “I am really excited to be playing with the Kowloon Cantons in the upcoming T20 tournament.”

“I can’t wait to meet my teammates and experience the city, while also hopefully contributing to the game of cricket in Hong Kong which I know has been coming on leaps and bounds in recent years,” he had added. His plans after the two-day tournament will definitely be followed by many of his fans. The last time Michael Clarke had played a T20 match was way back in 2012, when he turned up for the Pune Warriors in the Indian Premier League.
