Michael Kasprowicz confident an Aussie turnaround in the 3rd ODI
The 45-year-old wants to see the Aussies dominate the third match and keep the competitiveness of the series alive.
Australian former cricketer Michael Kasprowicz is confident of the Australian team turning it around in the ongoing series between India and Australia. The team from down under is under immense pressure in the must-win encounter in Indore. Another loss and they could be under a serious threat of getting whitewashed. But Kasprowicz has backed Steve Smith and Co. to keep the series alive by winning the Indore ODI.
Team India has bamboozled the Australian batsmen with their two wrist spinners in Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. They have shared 10 dismissals between them so far and continue to threaten them even on flatter decks. However, the Aussie bowlers have been in tremendous form as well and would love to continue doing that on Sunday.
We have always found it tough in subcontinent
Kasprowicz acknowledged that the game of cricket is all about adapting to the conditions. ”The toughest thing about playing cricket is adjusting and adapting your skills. Unfortunately, it takes a little bit of time and there’s not much time in 50-over cricket to do that. It’s a shame for Australia that they lost first two matches,” he told ANI in an interview.
He also felt the coach David Saker and the skipper Smith to correct the things that went wrong in first two matches.
“I am looking forward to see them to correct that. This third match is the new game. That’s with Steve Smith does for the team and with the coach David Seckar, the assistant coach at the moment. Coming out of here, I am sure he will have an impact in turning things around,” he said on the sidelines of a programme hosted by the Australian High Commission for sports law and governance.
The former right-arm pacer admitted that Australia have always found it difficult to tackle spin in the sub-continent and, therefore, they have to come out with a better performance.
”We have always found it difficult to adjusting to spin in these conditions. It’s part of life, playing cricket in the subcontinent. So, I don’t think that’s going to be a big deal,” he added.
The 45-year-old wants to see the Aussies dominate the third match and keep the competitiveness of the series alive.
“Score more runs than India. We have some fantastic and talented players in the Australian side. They have played a lot of cricket in the IPL. So, I am looking forward to them really stepping up and dominating this third match,” he concluded.
