Michael Vaughan backs India to win 4-0 against West Indies
Vaughan put his prediction cap on and said India will win the remaining four games in the West Indies series. He also picked Australia to win the Women's World Cup.
After the exodus of Kumble, the Indian team will be delighted to start playing cricket. The resignation of Kumble caused a lot of clamour and a lot was written about the team in the media which must be frustrating for the players. India were in a decent position in the first ODI against the West Indies before rain forced the match to be abandoned later.
Former England captain and Ashes winner Michael Vaughan has predicted India to win the remaining four games to take the series 4-0. In a video posted by Mr Green Sporks UK on Twitter, Vaughan said that after the first game resulting in a washout, Vaughan said:“with four more to play, I think India will win 4-0”. India will play the second ODI on Sunday but rain threats loom large on this game as well. The next three games will be played on June 30, July 2 and July 6.
Women’s World Cup prediction
The ICC’s Women’s World Cup kick-started on Saturday. India played their first game last night and defeated hosts England with a comfortable margin of 35 runs. Vaughan predicted for this tournament as well. He said,“India is getting off to a god start but I can’t see anybody else but, dread to say, Australia winning the World Cup.” The final of the World Cup will be played at the Lord’s on July 23.
India’s women have a squad strong with Mithali Raj as the skipper, who also played a breezy knock of 71 to contribute to her team’s win last night. The bowlers, in defence of 282, bowled well in tandem to bowl out the hosts for 246. Shikha Pandey and Deepti Sharma picked five wickets between themselves in 15.3 overs collectively.
The Indian men will face the hosts today and look the favourites to win against hosts West Indies. The middle order of India will be the focus the entire series as it hasn’t gotten too many runs of late.
