Indian batsman Virat Kohli has been an indispensable member of the national team in all three formats. He has never had a bad patch as such in his career and oppositions have strained to find out a solution of restricting the Delhi-born cricketer. Recently, he played the five-match ODI series against Jason Holder’s Windies, which India comprehensively won 3-1.
The series was special for Virat as he became the fastest batsman to notch 10,000 ODI runs, surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who scored the same amount of runs in 54 more innings. He also turned out as the first Indian with three ODI tons in succession and the 10th overall batsman to do so. Thereafter, he took a break from the three-match T20I series.

However, the cricketer would now face a stern challenge in Australia as India are scheduled to play three T20Is, as many ODIs and four Tests, starting November 21 at the Gabba in Brisbane. As fas as Virat’s overseas records are concerned, those have been impressive as well. The 30-year-old played exceptionally when India toured South Africa earlier this year.
Kohli was also tremendous during India’s Test, ODI and T20I series against England. He was India’s Player of the Match in the red-ball fixtures as he ended as the tournament’s leading run-scorer. Back in 2014-15 when India toured Australia, Kohli was one of his team’s best batsmen. Being India’s stalwart in the lineup, a lot would be expected of the experienced campaigner.
In the meantime, Michael Vaughan, the former English cricketer, reckons Kohli will carry on with his rich vein of form in Australia as well. The official twitter handle of Fox Sports Cricket shared a video on the Indian skipper. They captioned the video and wrote, “Will @imVkohli reign supreme in Australia #FoxCricket.” Replying to the tweet, Vaughan wrote, “Yes”.
