India are currently in Australia for a full-fledged tour, which is scheduled to end on January 2019. Their campaign started with a three-match T20I series, which was drawn. The Aussies won the opening match at The Gabba in Brisbane and the match thereafter at Melbourne Cricket Ground was abandoned due to persistent rain. Nevertheless, India won the final match in Sydney by four wickets.
Skipper Virat Kohli scored his 19th T20I century to help India evade another overseas series defeat. India are now scheduled to play a four-match Test series, which gets underway on Thursday, December 6 at Adelaide Oval. Perth, Melbourne and Sydney are the venues for the remaining three encounters. Earlier, India slumped to defeat against England and South Africa in the red-ball fixtures.
An excited Michael Vaughan
Albeit their bowling was top-notch, the batting blew hot and cold to a significant extent. However, their upcoming Test series on Australian soil isn’t expected to much challenge. The same is for the reason that Australia don’t have Steve Smith and David Warner in their ranks. Most of the experts and pundits believe that India would be entering the series as the firm favourites.
In the meantime, former English cricketer Michael Vaughan believes India won’t get a better chance of winning a Test series Down Under and his words can’t be dismissed by any stretch of the imagination bearing in mind both teams’ current form. Moreover, the 44-year is also excited to travel Australia in order to serve a commentator for Fox Sports.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “Time to get to Australia .. Can’t wait to cover the #AUSvIND series for @FoxCricket .. India will never ever get a better chance of winning down under !!! Should be a beauty … Anyway time to watch some Narcos ….”
