Michael Vaughan feels RR's Aussie pick as an absolute bargain

The second semi-final of the Big Bash League (BBL) between Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades was a cliffhanger as the former side registered a victory over the last ball by just one run. While chasing a target of 179 runs, Renegades needed 20 runs off the last couple of overs as Michel Neser and Ben Laughlin pulled off an unbelievable victory for the Strikers. However, Michael Vaughan was thrilled after watching the match and showered praises over his favourite Aussie bowler and believed that he was an absolute bargain for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL auction.

Neser bowled an excellent penultimate over and conceded only 7 runs which left 13 runs for Laughlin to defend as Kieron Pollard was in front of him. The first ball went for four which only increased the pressure on him. But he used his variations perfectly after that which brought the equation down to 3 runs off the final delivery. The bowler, however, managed to bowl a dot ball to the big West Indian batsman and won the game for his team by one run.

Vaughan in awe of Laughlin

Michael Vaughan was watching the much-hyped cricket game and was in awe of Laughlin after he kept Pollard under the lid throughout the over. He couldn’t hide his excitement and revealed on Twitter that Laughlin was his favourite Aussie bowler. He also went on to claim that Rajasthan Royals have signed a perfect death bowler at a very lesser price. Rajasthan Royals, during the IPL auction last week, picked Ben Laughlin at his base price of Rs. 50 Lakhs. He has been excellent for Strikers this season scalping 16 wickets in 11 matches at a strike rate of just 15 and an average of 20.31. There is no doubt that Vaughan rates him so high and is surely a bargain buy for Royals. He might be turned out to be the masterstroke for them in the upcoming season of IPL.
