Michael Vaughan lashed out at the ICC who pulled up Jason Holder for an incident during the 2nd Test match against England in Leeds. The incident occurred on day four which prompted the ICC to hand the West Indies skipper with a demerit point for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct.
Holder uses foul language, ICC quick to react
The ICC reprimanded Holder for “using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an international match”. Holder hurled abuses at his teammate Powell when he dropped Dawid Malan in the 70th over of England’s second innings. Former Ashes winning captain Vaughan couldn’t believe the ICC’s decision to award a demerit point to the West Indies skipper. He voiced his opinions through micro-blogging website Twitter and question where the game is heading towards.
Jason Holder has been given a demerit point for swearing after Powell dropped a catch !!!!!!!!!! What is this game coming too @ICC !!?????

West Indies fritter golden opportunity
West Indies, who were in the supremacy for the first three days of the Headingley, let the game slip from their hands on the fourth day. Starting the day with just 2 runs ahead and 7-second innings wicket in hand, England’s middle order batted extremely well to get their team out of a rut. West Indies did not help themselves by dropping a couple of catches which riled their skipper Holder, who was looking to help his team win a Test in England after 17 years. After the reprieve, Malan scored a patient 61 and was given good company by Stokes who made 58. Later, half centuries from Moeen Ali (84) and Chris Woakes (61*) enabled England to declare with a lead of 321.
Interestingly, Vaughan wasn’t very pleased with Kagiso Rabada’s suspension in a similar incident during South Africa’s tour of England in July. Rabada was handed a one match ban for giving Ben Stokes a send off which was caught on the stump mic during the Lord’s Test.
