Wahab Riaz, on his day, can be one of the deadliest bowlers, but he has not been able to make full use of his undoubted talent. Inconsistency and injuries have hampered his progress throughout the career.  When he is in a good rhythm he causes havoc, but sometimes he becomes a problem for his own team.  In the second Test vs Sri Lanka, Wahab Riaz missed his bowling run-up five times in a row which infuriated his coach Mickey Arthur.

In the 111th over of the Sri Lankan innings, the Pakistani fast bowler was found wanting for rhythm. The left-arm pacer missed his run-up for five times in a row. No one in the stadium would have expected Wahab Riaz to miss for five times in a row.

The Pakistan coach, Mickey Arthur was seemingly infuriated by this. A picture shared by Pak Passion. Net showed Arthur holding his head as Riaz was left searching for the answers.

Arthur is known for being strict

Mickey Arthur has a reputation for being a strict coach. He is known as one of the strictest International coaches. The Pakistan’s coach doesn’t have the sweet relationship with many of the Pakistani players but PCB decided to extend his till the 2019 World Cup. The coach has earned the confidence of the board after leading Pakistan to their first Champions Trophy triumph.

With Mickey Arthur looking bemused with Wahab Riaz in the ongoing Test match it would be interesting to see if it gets picked in the next match.

It would be a big call to take for the management of the potential of Wahab is undoubted. Wahab Riaz is known for his exploits in the World Cup. He took 5 wickets in the 2011 World Cup semi-final vs India. His spell vs Australia in the 2015 World Cup quarter-final was one of the best spells of that World Cup.
