Micky Arthur set to sit in a meeting with PCB in order to decide the future course of action for Pakistan

Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur is set to sit with some of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials in a meeting where he will decide the future course of action for the team. According to a trusted source, Arthur will meet Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and Director of Academies Mudassar Nazar and a few other officials. Arthur arrived in the capital city of Lahore, Late on Sunday night.

In the meeting, the dignitaries will discuss the future course of action for the team and the development of talent for the game. The training camps at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore will also be brought under the scanner, the source added.

The PCB is seeking feedback from coach Mickey Arthur on the performance of the other coaching staff revealed the source. Apparently, the board is not satisfied with the performance of batting coach Grant Flower and fielding coach Steve Rixon. The board might terminate their contracts and release them of their duties for not being able to deliver significantly.

The Governing board meeting scheduled for July 29 will see the performances of the coaching staff being closely analysed. A decision will be made only after the meeting on whether to keep or remove the present support staff.

Grant Flower, the younger of the famous Flower brothers from Zimbabwe joined the Pakistan national team in the year of 2013 as the batting coach. Since then Flower has worked with three different coaches namely Dav Whatmore, Waqar Younis and Mickey Arthur.

The Pakistani players currently going through a gruelling training camp in the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The camp will make the players do some robust fielding drills and practices with the primary aim of bolstering the fielding department. Due to Pakistan poor fielding form, the PCB has made it clear that the board will not compromise on fielding from now on.
