Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella lists out his favorite cricketers
Nadella also told that he would love to code for the betterment of cricket and recalled his recent meeting with the ex-India captain, Anil Kumble.
Individuals, who have watched the sport of cricket, in spite of loving the sport as a whole, have some players whom they love to watch on the field. And, such is the case with the Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, who revealed the names of his favourite cricketers.
Nadella’s love for cricket is pretty well known. He, in an interview once had mentioned a signed bat by Sachin Tendulkar to be one of his most prized possessions. Nadella, who has had an Indian upbringing, has been an avid follower of the sport and has expressed his love for the same on many occasions.
While speaking on the subject, with the President of Microsoft India, Anant Maheshwari, Nadella revealed the name of his favourite cricketer. And, unsurprisingly, it was none other than the ‘little master’, Sachin Tendulkar. He also added that in the current generation of players, it was Virat Kohli, who impressed him the most. “I would say Sachin from yesterday and Virat today,” Nadella was quoted telling by The Statesman.

Nadella also told that he would love to code for the betterment of cricket and recalled his recent meeting with the ex-India captain, Anil Kumble, who now owns a start-up that develops, cricket bats equipped with Internet of Things (IoT) sensors.
“I would prefer coding for cricket. I met Anil Kumble yesterday. He has a start-up where cricket bats are equipped with Internet of Things (IoT) sensors. Coding is one thing that I would say is a malleable, changeable resource for a great future,” he said.
Cricket since its inception has been an ever-evolving sport. Everything from newer technologies enabling better decision making by the umpires, to spider cams, making the broadcasting experience better, have been adopted worldwide. With the sport having undergone a big transformation over the years, and the formats getting shorter and more and more exciting, it is expressions and interests of influential individuals like Satya Nadella, that keep the hope of making the sport even better, alive each day.
